A Summer Daydream

Updated: Aug 17, 2023

#ThrowbackThursday to a Facebook post from July 26, 2018

Sometimes I need a break from the gray-scale world of charcoal and graphite and I need to play with some color. Especially when summer enters her prime, how the birds sing and the gentling sound of wind rustles through the green leaves and the aroma of flowers in the air sneaks its way into my house and lures me away into a dream. A tropical dream of the sound of ocean waves, lightly colored fine sand so warm and soft to the touch and a devastatingly handsome Spanish guitarist beautifully strumming a love song in the distance as if he were singing to find my heart. I try to resist and tell myself, "I gotta get this charcoal drawing done!" But I seem to eventually give in and I cannot help myself. I must dive into my array of chalk pastels once again and create a beautiful scene that I long to play in. 😊 I'll be sharing more pictures of my artwork soon!

Just a little summer reading pleasure #haveaniceday
