I am sharing an old un-dated poem and accompanying drawing/sketch I created when I was between 13 to 15 years old when I was in junior high school. I am sharing it NOT for quality but for the meaning of the poem as it interestingly relates to me now and to my last blog post.

I found this old poem and sketch of mine recently while I was reorganizing some papers. I finally gave this old poem a title "Somewhere Out There" a few days ago. I thought I should share my lesser poems first then share my better poetry later. I also realized this poem is proof of how I have dreamed since I was a child that someday I could inspire others going through difficulties in life to not give up on life as I have struggled with depression and other challenges throughout my life.
Somewhere Out There
Could there be
Something more?
A future that’s better
Than what I’ve imagined before?
Is there hope for healing
For a hurting heart
That has been torn apart?
No matter how big the wound may be
Could it leave a scar?
If someone stitched it just a bit
At least enough to
Encourage me to do
A good deed to brighten the day
Of at least one sad person
So that they can understand
No matter how bad they believe
Their situation may be
That there is always hope
For an unstable soul.
